The Path to Storytelling

Long before he became a television editor, Jason Harrison was immersed in the world of performance and improvisation. A graduate of the Conservatory Program at The Second City Los Angeles, Jason also trained and performed with iO West and The Groundlings, developing a deep appreciation for character, timing, and storytelling. The lessons learned on stage would later become invaluable in the editing room, where pacing, emotion, and narrative structure are essential to crafting compelling television.

Driven by a passion for visual storytelling, Jason attended Video Symphony in Burbank, California, where he studied television and film editing. After completing his training, he began his professional post-production career as an Assistant Editor on the fitness series P90X2. From there, he transitioned into the fast-paced world of unscripted reality television, where his technical expertise, work ethic, and creative instincts quickly earned him greater responsibilities.

Jason advanced rapidly through the ranks, moving from Assistant Editor to Lead Assistant Editor before ultimately becoming a Television Editor. His unique background in improvisation and performance gives him a storyteller’s perspective, allowing him to find the humor, drama, and emotional beats that bring every project to life.

Outside of television, Jason pursues a diverse range of interests. He is a licensed real estate agent in Los Angeles, an accomplished jazz guitarist, and an aviation enthusiast currently working toward earning his private pilot’s license. Whether in the editing suite, on stage, playing music, helping clients navigate real estate transactions, or preparing for the skies, Jason is driven by curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong commitment to learning and growth.
